Undergraduate Prizes offered for Subjects attempted in 2006
Students studying at the UoW - Wollongong Campus are eligible recipients of these prizes



Prize Recipients for 2006


PricewaterhouseCoopers Prize

ELIGIBILITY :
The award shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled in the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology degree. It will be awarded to the candidate with the best grade in IACT450 Research Project (Honours).

VALUE OF PRIZE : $500 – shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
The Pearson Education Australia Prize
(formerly known as Addison-Wesley Prize) for First Year Bachelor of Computer Science Students


ELIGIBILITY :The prize will be awarded to the candidate with the best average performance in three 100 level CSCI subjects offered by SITACS.

VALUE OF PRIZE : The value of the award will be text books to the value of $150– shared if two or more equal candidates.
 
 
The Ross Nealon Prize for Second Year Bachelor of Computer Science Students

ELIGIBILITY :The prize is open to all full-time undergraduate students completing the second year of the Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong. The recipient will have an outstanding academic record in all subjects (as determined by WAM), and especially in Computer Science subjects.

VALUE OF PRIZE : $1,000 – shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
The Richard Miller Prize for Third Year Bachelor of Computer Science Students

ELIGIBILITY : The prize is open to third year full-time undergraduate students completing the third year of the Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Wollongong.The recipient should have an outstanding academic record in all subjects (as determined by WAM),especially in Computer Science subjects.


VALUE OF PRIZE : $1,000 – shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
SITACS Advisory Committee Prize


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to candidates who are enrolled in either the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology degree or the Bachelor of Computer Science degree and enrolled in CSCI102 Systems. The prize shall be made to the candidate with the highest mark in CSCI102 Systems

VALUE OF PRIZE : Varies annually, but no less than $250 – shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Getronics Australia (Pty) Ltd Prize


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to anyone enrolled in and who has achieved the highest mark in the subject IACT303 World Wide Networking, at the Wollongong Campus.

VALUE OF PRIZE : $250 - shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Andrew Corporation (Australia) Prize for Software Engineering Practices and Principles.


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled and who have achieved the hightest mark in either CSCI318 Software Engineering Practices & Principles or MCS9318 Software Engineering Practices & Principles, at the Wollongong Campus.

VALUE OF PRIZE : $500 - shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Andrew Corporation (Australia) Prize for Software Engineering Requirements and Specifications


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled and who have achieved the hightest mark in either CSCI450 Software Engineering Requirements & Specifications or ITCS933 Software Engineering Requirements & Specifications, at the Wollongong Campus.

VALUE OF PRIZE : $500 - shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Outstanding Achievement in Final Year Project


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled in the annual version of CSCI321 Project, at the UoW Wollongong Campus.

VALUE OF PRIZE :$1000 – shared equally by all members of the winning project group/s
 
 
Outstanding Achievement in CSCI322 or MSC9322 Systems Administration


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled and who have achieved the hightest mark in CSCI322/MCS9322 Systems Administration, at the UoW Wollongong Campus

VALUE OF PRIZE : $250 - shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Itree Prize for Databases


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled in CSCI235 at the Wollongong Campus. The prize shall be awarded to the candidate who has achieved the highest mark in CSCI235 Databases.

VALUE OF PRIZE : $500 - shared if two or more equal candidates
 
 
Itree Prize for Java Programming


ELIGIBILITY :The prize shall be open annually to all candidates enrolled in CSCI213 at the Wollongong Campus. The prize shall be awarded to the candidate who has achieved the highest mark in CSCI213 Java Programming and Object Oriented Design.
