COMMENCING YOUR PLACEMENT.
I believe the two periods of Industry
placementshould remain an integral part of the Information Technology
degree, I believe it is important to be able to contrast the
difference not only between university and working lifestyles;
but also between learning and working environments. Whereas
a BInfoTech provides a foundational knowledge, Industry Placement provides an insight into applicational culture.
This insight into the methodologies of work practice, and the
experience of being given responsibilities and being expected
to work based on one's own initiatives and decisions, is absolutely
relevant to a well-rounded education. Furthermore, by having
such a focal role in the degree, the advantages of a BInfoTech,
the skills and experience gained, are openly clarified. |
