Welcome to the School of Information Technology and Computer Science. Our graduates are highly regarded and readily employed. Our School's vision is "First choice in IT education and research". As we all know, IT & CS is an exciting and rapidly developing science. We constantly review our existing popular degrees in line with market place needs, the rapid advances Information Technology and Computer Science applications, especially the Internet, and the globalisation of telecommunications. In this way, we ensure we remain ahead of the field.

We are now entering the age of the borderless world that is characterised by unrestricted flow of knowledge, goods and services. The School’s main areas of activity include Computer and Communications Security, E-application, Software Engineering and Intelligent Systems. Areas of active research and teaching within the Computer and Communications Security group include: cryptography, computer security, network and multimedia security, distributed systems security, and combinatorial designs. The E-applications group’s projects are in: e-commerce; e-education, e-health, information management and telecommunications network planning. The Software Engineering group focuses on dependable systems to include agile methods, software risk and flexible manufacturing, The Intelligent Systems group focuses on
artificial intelligence techniques for decision support, machine perception, mobile robotics, neural networks, data mining & databases.
